HIRINGS/PROMOTIONS
Dauphin, a provider of adaptive furniture solutions, hired Maureen Christensen as marketing coordinator. Christensen will be responsible for overall organization and management of Dauphin trade shows in North America.
White Lodging, an independent hospitality, development and management company promoted Bob Stewart as full service corporate director of sales and marketing.
Sceptre Hospitality Resources, a revenue generation and ecommerce firm, hired Patrick Shine and David Bell as managing directors of select-service hotels. Shine and Bell are co-founders of the hospitality sales and marketing company Results in Hospitality.
OPENINGS/RENOVATIONS/BRAND NEWS
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) opened the 243-key Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West, and will open the 247-key Crowne Plaza Fort Worth South in December. Both properties were formerly Radisson Hotels.
Doubletree Hotels opened a former New Jersey Holiday Inn as the 179-key Doubletree Hotel Tinton Falls- Eatontown.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts opened the 117-key Traders Hotel, Male, Maldives. The converted hotel, which opened in 2009, was formerly owned by Male Hotel Associates.
The 2,881-key Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tenn., has reopened following repair of flood damages. Kimball Hospitality delivered custom furnishings for 579 rooms in the Magnolia Wing of the hotel.
California Pizza Kitchen opened a 4,400 sq. ft. full-service restaurant in Tucson, Ariz.
AWARDS
Wilson Associates bestowed its 2010 Point of Excellence Awards to Emily Salter of George Cameron Nash and Bill Powell of Milestone Water. The award winners were unveiled at the recent Wilson Point of Excellence Awards luncheon, which recognizes vendors and service providers in the design industry who provide exemplary service and perform above and beyond expectations. A profile of Wilson Associates founder and ceo Trisha Wilson and her philanthropic efforts is the cover story in the current issue of Boutique Design, a sister publication of Hospitality Style.
BUSINESS BRIEFS
Pebblebrook Hotel Trust acquired the 310-room Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica Hotel for $102.8 million. Viceroy Hotel Group will retain management of the property.
Century Casinos executed a long-term management agreement for the 14,000 sq. ft. casino at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa.
Northview Hotel Group in partnership with a subsidiary of funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management acquired three JELD-WEN resorts in Oregon. The sale includes the 80-key Brasada Ranch, the 83-key Running Y Ranch and the 100-key Eagle Crest Resort.
