Caribbean locale upgrades spaces’ kitchens and bathrooms

Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort in St. Lucia, the Caribbean, is refurbishing 20 of its villas as part of a $500,000 overhaul that's slated for completion next month. The work involves restoring the villas to the way they were originally designed by Barbadian architect Ian Morrison. In keeping with that goal, the villas' kitchens will be replaced with granite work surfaces and fabrics used throughout will feature rustic, Balinese prints, while their bathrooms will feature hand painted Mexican sinks and tiles.

The villa update follow on the heels of a separate, $700,000-pluse investment at the 21-year-old resort that involved renovating its Anthurium Lily suites, by introducing mahogany four-poster beds draped with white cloth, sun decks with a sea view, marble bathrooms and 27 inch plasma televisions.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be embarking upon this latest phase in our refurbishment program here in the Caribbean,” said Anthony Bowen, the resort's managing director. “We received such positive feedback from our new Anthurium Lily suites; we know our refurbished villas will ensure that our guests can continue to enjoy the very best at Windjammer Landing.”
